A visit from the doctor

We had a visit from another hero that helps us, a doctor. She talked about the different types of doctors and showed us how to put on a sling. The children asked good questions such as "How did you become a doctor?", "Do you fix dog's broken legs?" and "Do you fly the helicopter?"

Book week competition reminder

Remember it is book week next week. There is a competition running to see who can create the best book mark. So far Y1S has only had two entries. I'm sure you can put your thinking hats on a come up with some 'super' designs!
And don't forget the book fair will be in the main hall after school next week!

Super hero update

Sorry there hasn't been a blog post for so long- it's a busy life being super heroes!
Here is a glimpse of what we have been doing over the last couple of weeks.
We've been reading, role playing and writing about Traction Man (and have created a great display showing some of his adventures), we've been investigating the favourite super heroes in the class and putting the data into graphs, we've been measuring length, weight and capacity, using money, and learned about miracles of Jesus. PHEW!!! It's been a very busy time and lots of fun.
We were also expecting a visit from a policeman yesterday but he had to dash off to help someone else but he will come in next week to talk to the children about how the police help us. If any parents could come in and talk to the children about how they help the community, please contact us. We love visitors!
