Our class caterpillars must be very hungry! We have only had them for one day and they are already bigger than they were yesterday. How much do you think they will grow over the weekend?

A letter from Mr Rat
Today the class found a letter from Mr Rat. It said that he had been up a giant beanstalk and had an adventure. He had found some magic beans up there and wondered what sort of beanstalks would grow from them. So in literacy the children wrote some descriptions of what might be found at the top of this new magic beanstalk. There were some very interesting ideas!

The princess and the pea
This term we are looking at fairy tales is literacy. This week and next week we are focussing on the princess an the pea. The children have been ordering and retelling the story to get them ready for our big write next week when they will write the story out in full. In fact we have learned how to tell the story using lots of actions. Ask one of us to demonstrate!
Using control
Today in ICT we used 2go and gave instructions to a screen 'turtle'. We were so good we started to record our instructions to see who could move the turtle around the race track in the fewest moves.
Life in the garden
This week we have started our new topic 'Life in the garden'. It's all about mini beasts and growing. To start the topic off we went on a minibeast hunt around the school. Despite the cold we were able to find a range of creepy crawlies, which we brought back to class for closer inspection under the digital microscope.
